Hunter’s Dream for a Cure awarded Union Colony Children’s Music Academy with two grants in 2008. The first grant supports their current program, which serves special needs children in Greeley, Colorado. The second grant helped start and fund their new program in Loveland, which currently serves children with special needs in the Loveland, Fort Collins and Longmont areas.

Union Colony Children's Music Academy

In the summer of 2004, Union Colony Children’s Music Academy began an amazing journey with a number of special needs children in Greeley and Loveland, Colorado. UCCMA seeks to provide music and movement opportunities that support children with developmental disabilities and their families.

Music is vital in defining the environment in which a child develops. It stimulates all areas of development: intellectual, social, emotional, motor, language, and literacy.  It organizes the mind and body to work together, enhancing motor skills, math and reading performance.

Research continues to demonstrate the benefits of early childhood music education. As a non-profit, UCCMA strives to make this opportunity available to the entire community.
