24/7 Kids Respite Care
24/7 Kids was founded in the fall of 2003, in Greeley, Colorado. The mission of 24/7 Kids is to assist in the development of temporary, specialized child care for families who have a child or children with special needs. The long term vision is to establish affordable, accessible and community-based respite care in a free-standing facility in Weld County, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to all families who have children with special needs.
24/7 Kids allows children with special needs and their siblings to enjoy four hours of recreational time participating in activities of their own choosing. Each child is paired with their own volunteer, who supervises the child as they engage in activities ranging from arts and crafts or video/computer games to music and movement class or open gym time.
The primary focus is allowing the children to be the children they are, not the disabilities they struggle with each and every day. The program provides social, emotional and physical growth, through interactive recreations with community volunteers.
Currently 24/7 Kids serves 36 children representing 18 families living in or near Weld County.
